Our client is a leading Hospitality Group with an excellent reputation across the region. We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Job Overview

To control and monitor financial and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, international financial and accounting reporting standards.

Reporting to: General Manager

Responsibilities

  • Recommends improvements to departmental policy and directs the implementation of procedures and controls covering all areas of the Finance activity so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service to customers
  • Prepares and recommends the Finance section budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed
  • Monitors the financial performance of the Finance section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon
  • Supervises the day-to-day operations of the Finance section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures
  • Ensures control of general ledger accounts so that all financial transactions are recorded in adherence to agreed standards and the Group’s policies and procedures
  • Ensures smooth functioning of reconciliation and control activities related to specific departments, Suspense, etc so that accurate data is reported in line with the Group’s standards
  • Monitors generation of reconciliation reports in order to identify and highlight gaps, if any, and take corrective actions to report accurate financial performance
  • Controls and ensures maintenance of the Hotel’s general ledger including control of direct inputs and data transfers from, purchase ledger, sales ledger, fixed asset register and trade accounts receivable ledger ensuring all accounting and bookkeeping functions are properly executed and all financial postings are correctly coded
  • Supervises the activities and work of subordinates by providing formal and informal feedback to ensure that all work within a specific area is carried out in an efficient manner and in accordance with set individual targets
  • Stimulates subordinates and contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement
  • Supervises the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards
  • Ensures compliance to all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the section in order to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environmental attitude

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 4- 6 years experience
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in a management level position
  • Must have experience within Service Industries
  • Should have handled a portfolio at least 50 million SAR
  • Open to male Saudi nationals in KSA now

Salary/Compensation

  • Salary to be used as a guide only and will reflect experience levels and interview performance
  • Salary is around 20k per month total package
