MAIN OBJECTIVE:

To manage the credit portfolio division of the bank, oversee portfolio concentrations and manage levels of exposure and risk. A highly strategic and analytical approach will be undertaken to ensure success in this role.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Formulation and implementation of the strategy and plans as befitting the department and business line needs and objectives 
Directs the operations of the Credit Portfolio Division providing expertise, encouraging and ensuring teamwork, aligning work processes to achieve high   performance standards, meet established targets, objectives and employee engagement in a motivated work environment, and exercises financial authority    within established limits
Analysis of Market size (capacities/demand) at the Aggregated Industry level for 24 Industry clusters
Collection of Market Information for identified Industry clusters – both from Internal & External sources
Intelligence derivation from market research at the Aggregated level for the Industry clusters
Identification of opportunities / gaps that represent either product or business development potential
Analysis of Aggregated Industry financial statements for 24 Industry clusters
Collection of Financial Information for identified Industry clusters – both from Internal & external sources
Intelligence derivation from financial analysis at the Aggregated level for the Industry clusters
Preparation of Industry Reviews with recommendations for action
Identification of opportunities / gaps that represent either product or business development potential
Collection of Portfolio statistics for the identified Portfolio clusters – both Internal & External sources.
Intelligence derivation from mathematical research of the Portfolio clusters
Securitization applications and their sourcing off the CPM platform
Interface with business units to explore potential opportunities for product development models
Early warning signals to be generated off the MIS for the new Risk Architecture
Implementation of Approved Limits for Industry/ Portfolio;
Ensure Portfolio Products/ Industry Reviews receive product support to conform to quality standards
Preparing reports as required to manage the approved limits
Articulation of high level Portfolio Risks to Bank Executive Committee/ Board and associated RMC monitoring/reporting,
Centralized Data Base (i.e. data warehousing) – creation & operations
Dissemination of Portfolio Product Information to the business units

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:
MBA or finance related degree with honours

Experience:
15 years experience in the banking/financial sectors with World Class institutions, with 5 years each in Risk Management, Industry/Portfolio Reviews, as well Portfolio Product Programs.

Competencies:
Fluency in Arabic/ English
Strong analytical skills
Strong risk management background
Good presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
