Our client is a very well respected Middle East Holding Company covering a broad range of industries. These include: manufacturing, construction, building industry, real estate, electronics, development, information technology, communication and investments.
Based in their Dubai office the successful candidate will be an essential part of the management team.
JOB PURPOSE
The Director of Finance is responsible for managing the Finance function. This includes preparing the budget; conducting financial analysis, preparing financial reports, conducting feasibility study and developing and implementing an effective accounting system.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop the MIS for the finance division, identify and highlight key issues, which need to be brought to the notice of the Head - Finance to ensure that the required corrective action is taken where required.
- Develop policies, systems and processes for financial control, budgeting and budgeted vs actual performance reporting, monitor deployment and adherence to policies, systems and processes to ensure that there are clearly defined guidelines for budgeting and performance reporting.
- Monitor the annual budgeting process for the company by coordinating with department heads to facilitate preparation of departmental budgets, collating and analyzing departmental budgets to prepare the annual budget for the company, presenting the required budgets to the board to ensure that the annual budgets for the company and departments are developed and approved.
- Monitor preparation of the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual actual vs budget performance reports, conduct analysis of reports including service line profitability, price realization etc, present and discuss the same with the department heads to ensure that the top management has the required financial information and analysis to take various strategic and operating decisions.
- Conduct and Review financial feasibility studies for new projects, discuss findings with concerned department heads and top management and evaluate financial alternatives for new projects to ensure that new projects financial feasibility of new projects before approval.
- Lead and guide subordinates by providing them with technical guidance, training and the required growth opportunities to ensure that subordinates are developed for higher-level roles.
- May be asked to perform other related duties as and when required.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Finance or Accounting
- Masters Degree in Financial Management & Accounting/ Professional Accounts qualification preferred
- Minimum 15 years experience in finance and accounts of which at least 5 years should have been as Head of a Finance function.
- Proven track record and experience in logistics & supply chain management.
- Should have knowledge of developing financial controls, policies and systems, budgeting and financial reporting, financial modeling, cash forecasting, fund mobilization, capital structure modeling.
- Ability to conduct feasibility studies.
- Strong leadership, decision making and managerial skills.
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
- Can demonstrate strategic and broad-based view of issues and has a perception of their longer term impact or wide implications.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Must demonstrate strong work ethics and integrity.
