JOB OVERVIEW
Our client is a leader in high end manufacturing. The Controller of Sales and General & Admin is a key member of the entity’s Controlling team and has accountability for the delivery of the Sales and G&A KPIs across the group. The incumbent will be involved in all aspects of the Sales- from strategic conception to the delivery & it’s controlling. He will be required to liaise with production, Sales & cost accounting teams with varying levels of expertise in providing professional sales controlling services to the company, to monitor & rationalize sales and G&A processes so as to enable efficient utilization of all resources and reduction of waste/losses, mitigate risks, identify opportunities of improvement within the sales &working capital cycle, & analyze the sales & G&A performance
EXAMPLE OF KEY DUTIES
- Follow up the results of the month-end physical inventory check as well as periodic “surprise” checks, analyze & explain variances and ensure that
necessary adjustments are made on basis of findings
- Responsible for the integrity of the Sales module & work with the IT function to develop & establish full control over the Sales module
- Working with the Sales, Production & Costing teams, enable the development & implementation of a brand sales strategy to deliver the Group’s short,
medium & long term goals
- Be responsible for the update of the end to end Sales & G&A processes
- Working with Sales & Costing teams, critically analyze & provide commercial insight, margin analysis & performance reporting, recommend alternate
strategies to the management in relation to wastage / loss control, uneconomic utilization of resources, possible rationalization of processes and system, etc;
- Critically analyze inventory levels, follow up & implement measures to minimize sales inventory, sales returns, stock loss
- Working with the costing team, establish processes to ensure smooth periodic revaluation of inventory
EDUCATION LEVEL:
Member ICMA, CIMA, ICWA with MBA ideally
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
•
10-15 years experience (multinational preferred) in a large & complex manufacturing environment of which at least the last 5 years should have been as a
Controller/ Head of Costing Department including wholesale & finance experience
•
Strong technical cost accounting skills; detailed knowledge of latest controlling methodologies & practices
•
Extensive cost accounting experience, with experience at a senior supervisory level
•
Experience in working with large, multinational workforce
•
In depth experience in manufacturing module of one of the leading ERP’s e.g. SAP, ORACLE, JDE etc
•
Detailed knowledge of inventory management & production systems
•
Advanced analysis & spread sheeting skills
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
•
Familiarity with large & complex sales processes
•
Sales control, Project Planning, Scheduling & capacity planning
•
Sound knowledge of sales modules & spreadsheet applications
•
Sound knowledge of costing & analytical ability
•
Exposure to modern manufacturing/ sales techniques such as Kaizen, Six Sigma, Kanban etc
•
Management of large teams
•
Excellent command of English & report writing skills
•
Experience in developing and implementing policies, procedures and systems.
